Our story
A farewell without borders
AnderzAfscheid was born from the idea that saying goodbye should not be bound by borders. The true beauty of a personal farewell gives the bereaved an intimate way to deal with grief. We are convinced that by removing the traditional ‘borders’, you pass on something tangible and valuable to those left behind.

Regillio Ellensburg
Founder & funeral director
My name is Regillio Ellensburg, founder of AnderzAfscheid and creator of Fe & Faja and Ke’Kōōn. In daily life I am a dedicated funeral director, supporting families in creating a truly personal farewell.
With AnderzAfscheid I want to bring diversity into the funeral — to shape a farewell in an original way. We want to be different; being diverse is beautiful. By joining different strengths we make every funeral something special. AnderzAfscheid is rejuvenating, sustainable, innovative and diverse.
Innovative, among other things, with a comic for children about death, and with Ke’Kōōn — designed to create lasting memories for parents of stillborn babies; a warm, snug and protective nest.
I grew up in a society where diversity has been the norm for centuries, where peoples of different beliefs lived side by side in peace. A diverse society is a many-coloured society — and that makes us, as people, more beautiful.

Esther Terpstra
Therapist, teacher & trainer
My name is Esther Terpstra and I am the mother of a wonderful daughter. My passion is guiding people — as a therapist, teacher and trainer. I love inventiveness, creating, and the power of inspired collaboration; in recent years I love to express myself through writing.
I am driven by the wish to help reveal what life means — beautiful and painful. Life and death are connected, and with Fe & Faja we bring death to life so it becomes easier to talk about.
Children recognise themselves in the girls and, through them, express how they cope with loss and grief. Fe & Faja are in my heart. That we brought them to life in word and image makes me incredibly proud.
“Every farewell is the birth of a memory”
